The James Gang is proud to announce its selection as an Official Charity Partner for the 129th Boston Marathon® presented by Bank of America, a prestigious honor that will support the organization’s mission to provide inclusion opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities and raise awareness for NARS1 gene disorder. As a recognized charity partner, The James Gang will have the opportunity to field a team of 5 runners.

Team James Gang was fortunate to receive a number of outstanding applications. There are currently no available charity bibs for Team James Gang and the 2025 Boston Marathon.

Brianne Mansfield

From the moment Brianne met James, she knew he would be an important part of her life. His positivity, love for his family, and infectious smile make him truly special. Over the years, their bond has grown stronger, with James becoming not just a friend, but her dance partner, hockey date, and inspiration. Running the Boston Marathon for James is an honor for Brianne. It’s her way of celebrating their close bond and sharing James’s spirit with the world. For Brianne, marathons are about honoring those who can’t, and this race is a meaningful tribute to James and the special connection they share.

Erin Murphy

Erin has had the pleasure of knowing James through her good friends, the Cronin family, and has shared many memorable moments with him at Super Bowl parties, golf tournaments, and sporting events. She cheered on James and Liam at the 2024 Boston Marathon, watching them complete final stretch with smiles and peace signsRunning the Boston Marathon has long been a goal of Erin’s, and she is excited to finally do so in honor of James and to support The James Gang. She’ll be channeling James’s spirit throughout the race and looks forward to celebrating with him and the team afterward!

Kevin Cronin & James Anderson

Kevin grew up with James and their close-knit group of cousins—Lauren, Taylor, Nicole, Cam, and Kevin’s brothers Steve and Liam. James has always been the heart of their family, teaching them to lead with optimism, passion, and unwavering support for each other. His lessons in living in the moment, appreciating the small things, and never giving up continue to shape their lives.Kevin will be pushing James in the Boston Marathon, a moment that celebrates their shared love of sports and the special bond they’ve always had.

Stephen Flynn

Stephen has had the pleasure of knowing James through the Cronin family and has been inspired by James' resilience and passion. Over the years, Stephen has built a connection with James, sharing a mutual love for hockey, including a memorable VIP experience at a Umass Lowell game.

With a professional background in social care, safeguarding, and Sports Development for people with disabilities through Sport Ireland, Stephen’s involvement with The James Gang is a perfect fit. He is excited to run his eighth marathon in April as part of the team, and make another trip to Boston!

Shane Morgan

Shane has been involved with The James Gang for over a decade. He has known James Anderson through his lifelong friend, Liam Cronin, and has been continually inspired by James’s joy, infectious laughter, and positive attitude. Sports have always been a big part of Shane’s life, and after completing a 70.3 Ironman in 2024, he decided to pursue the Boston Marathon. This race offers Shane the opportunity to contribute to a cause that means so much to him, helping raise awareness for people with intellectual disabilities and furthering research into the NARS1 gene disorder.
